My LGBTQ+ Practice

My practice is inclusive and celebratory of LGBTQ+/ GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diverse) people.

What is an LGBTQ+ / GSRD practice?

Why is LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy important?

LGBTQ+ / GSRD (gender, sexuality and relationship diverse) clients are likely to have experienced ‘minority stress’ and issues such as shame, isolation and trauma. Microaggressions are not uncommon for these folk, and it is vital that a therapy space is safe(r) and does not reinforce the harm that can happen on a day to day basis. My therapy practice exists to provide this space.

How I work affirmatively for LGBTQ+ clients

I know from experience what a relief it can be to work with a therapist who has personal experience with being LGBTQ+.

I work non-judgmentally, allowing you to explore your identity, if you would like to.

I will not expect you to explain your experiences to me.

I will not make assumptions about you.

I will celebrate your uniqueness.
